Flyball and Flygility

In Flyball the dog is sent over a short course of jumps to fetch a ball from a Flyball machine and returns the ball to the handler.

FlygilityFlygility is a dog sport that mixes elements of agility and Flyball, using agility obstacles such as tunnels and ramps as well as jumps.

In both Flyball and Flygility the dog is required to complete the course without the handler running alongside, so as well as being mad keen on tennis balls and running very fast, to do Flyball and Flygility dogs need good off-lead control.

Flyball

Flyball and Flygility dogs compete either individually, racing one-on-one against other dogs in a knockout tournament, or in teams of three dogs.

OCTC Flygility dogs also compete individually and in teams in the monthly Flygility Link competition.  Over 100 Individual dogs and 30 teams from around New Zealand compete against each other over a course which is done by correspondence - the course is set up the same at each club and each dog's run is timed and sent to the National Agility Link Association who collate the results.
